What customer information do I have to provide along with my ticket application?

All ticket applicants applying for tickets online must provide the following information for themselves and their guests:
Title
First name
Middle name 
Full surname
Date of birth
Nationality
Passport/ID or QID number
Country of residence

In addition, all ticket applicants must provide the following information for themselves only (not for their guests):
Home address (no P.O. boxes)
Contact details (email address, mobile telephone number and home telephone number)
Preferred language
Over the counter, during the Last-Minute sales phase, all ticket applicants must provide the following information for themselves:
Title
Passport/ID or QID number (as well as showing the original passport/ID or QID)
First and last name
Date of birth
Country of residence
A valid email address
Mobile phone
Nationality
However, no information is required for the ticket applicant guest(s).

Why do I have to provide this information?

These categories of personal data are necessary for the successful processing of applications and the distribution of tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Your contact details might be processed to provide you with important information regarding your ticket application and your attendance to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. With your consent, your data might be used to send you marketing information from FIFA or from carefully selected FIFA partners. The personal data that you submit might, subject to applicable law, be, processed, stored and transferred to the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy located within the State of Qatar and further third parties (located both within and outside of the State of Qatar) for purposes relating to ticket sales and allocation procedures, as well as for any relevant safety and security measures and/or rights protection measures in connection with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. If a ticket application is unsuccessful or rejected, the ticket applicant may request that their personal data be deleted by contacting dataprotection@fifa.org

Why is my personal information shared with the State of Qatar?

Your personal data will be shared with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy located within the State of Qatar particularly for the issuance of your Hayya Card. Your Hayya Card is a mandatory requirement for each visitor to the State of Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and will serve for example as your Visa to travel to the country.

Why is it mandatory to provide a passport/ID or QID number for both me and my guests for an online purchase?

Identification data is required for the safety and security in cooperation with the State of Qatar in connection with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

I do not have a passport/ID or QID. What should I do?

If you do not have a passport/ID or QID, you will need to obtain one prior to submitting a ticket application.

One of my guests does not have a passport/ID or QID. What should I do?

If one of your guests does not have a passport/ID or QID, your guest will need to obtain one prior to the submission of a ticket application.

Can I update the passport/ID or QID number for both me and my guests through my FIFA Ticketing account?

Except during pre-planned maintenance windows, if you have purchased tickets during any of the sales period of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ you may update your passport/ID or QID number through your FIFA Ticketing account by following the steps listed below.

To update the Passport number/ID or QID of the main ticket applicant:
  • Access FIFA.com/tickets
  • Select FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™
  • Click on “My ticket application”
  • Select the respective link to the ticketing portal and log in to your FIFA ticketing account
  • Click on “Profile” on the side menu
  • Select “Passport number/ID or QID” and update the number
  • Scroll down and click on “SAVE” on the bottom page

Please note that as of 17 October 2022 it is no longer possible to update the passport number/ID or QID of guests.

Please make sure that your Passport/ID or Qatar ID number (and that of your guests) is correctly stated in your ticketing account. This information will facilitate the submission of your application for a digital Hayya Card.

What happens to my data once the process is complete? Will my personal details be retained even if my application is not successful?

We usually keep your data for ten years. We will inform you in case there is a local legal obligation to keep your personal data for a longer period. If a ticket application is unsuccessful or rejected, the ticket applicant may request their personal data to be deleted by contacting dataprotection@fifa.org

If a ticket applicant provides specific consent in their ticket application, their personal data may also be used for purposes relating to other products and services of FIFA or third parties determined by FIFA, in connection with commercial activities that may be of interest to the ticket applicant.

I am applying for tickets for my child/children and they do not yet have their own passport/ID or QID. What should I do?

We understand that you would like to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ with a child who does not have a passport/ID or QID. We must advise you, however, that a passport/ID or QID number is mandatory for all ticket purchases, and you will therefore need to obtain a passport/ID or QID for your child prior to submitting a ticket application.

Is my personal data protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

Yes. Your personal data is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which provides a high standard for the fair processing of your personal data. FIFA ensures to bind any third party located outside of the European Union to European standards.
